The Time Traveler’s Watch is the first symbol in a production that does not exist yet. At this level, we know almost nothing: who the traveler is, where he has been, how the watch works, or whether he intends to return.

The future of the work depends upon ownership.

If this painting is collected, its sale demands Level 2: a new 16 × 20 painting that introduces the Time Traveler. That work will be offered separately for $500.

If Level 2 is collected, the production advances again.

With each level, the work gains another capability—image, construction, relationship, experience, and eventually art capable of producing a new reality. Later levels may introduce the traveler’s portal, the world surrounding him, physical scale, film, education, or a community experience. Those decisions will be made according to what the work demands as it develops.

Each level is a separate original work. Purchasing this painting does not automatically include the paintings or productions that may follow. Its owner receives The Time Traveler’s Watch and becomes the reason the Time Traveler’s story moves forward.
